The local CPA firm of Rice, Sullivan & Co. is pleased to announce that Douglas Martin, CPA and Mark Maxim, CPA have been promoted to principal.

Martin joined Rice, Sullivan & Co. in 1998.  In his role as a principal, he manages the day-to-day operations of the firm’s Collinsville, Illinois office location.  Beyond his management responsibilities, Martin specializes in providing tax and small business consulting services to the firm’s clients.  He is also involved in the firm’s retirement planning department.  Martin has experience working with clients in a broad range of industries including real estate, technology and construction. 

Martin is a graduate of St. Louis University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS) and the Optimist Club of Belleville.  In addition, Martin is a Director and Past President of the Swansea Chamber of Commerce.  He currently resides in Smithton, Illinois with his wife and daughter.

Maxim joined the firm in 2000.  As a principal, he specializes in providing expert audit, accounting, tax, consulting, IT and retirement planning services.  Maxim has experience working with clients in a variety of industries and currently focuses on serving manufacturers, auto dealerships and medical service providers.  In addition, he assists with individual personal income tax preparation, and commercial and governmental audits.

Maxim received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Saint Louis University.  His professional memberships include the AICPA and the ICPAS.  Maxim is also a Director and Past President of the Swansea Chamber of Commerce.  He currently resides in Swansea, Illinois with his wife and children.
